“You could, but you won’t. You need my money for your little drug habit, and let’s not forget that I know enough about you now to destroy you and your entire family. We’re in this together now,” Archer reminded her. It was true that you couldn’t lie down with dogs and not get up with fleas -- or in this case, werewolves.

Archer had found Ooba after months of leaving flyers on cars at popular nightspots asking for leads from anyone who might know about the existence of supernaturals. Most people laughed and tossed the flyers aside. Ooba had been at a lesbian strip club in east Atlanta when she found the flyer on her windshield promising significant sums of money to anyone who could prove they had knowledge of a supernatural.

Archer had entertained all kinds of nuts and crazies claiming to either know a supernatural or be one, so he took the meeting with Ooba with little to no faith that she could point him toward the nearest supernatural. The first few minutes of their initial meeting had been filled with hesitation, distrust, and verbal jabs until Ooba shifted right in front of Archer and forced him to piss on himself. They made a pact on the spot -- his money for her knowledge and contacts. His first check to her was for $250,000 for informing him that there was talk on the underground of a vampire who was looking for a location for a supernatural club. They had conspired since then to sell one of Archer’s properties to Muslee’s father and then get Ooba a job as a security guard in the same establishment.
